What would be an upgrade to my Squier Bullet Strat?

I currently have a Squier Bullet Strat and i need to upgrade.it sound like crap through my line 6 spider 3 and its always out of tune. my budget is $200 what do ya think? i was looking at the Dean Vendetta XM, Ibanez GRX20, Dean ML XM, Epi Les Paul Special 2, Epi SG Standard, Pac012DLX, Affinity Series Telecaster. Which would you suggest for heavier sounds, i mainly use a boss ds-1 and like to play grunge and metal. thanks.
