I want to put a 80 or 90 yard par 3 golf hole on my property and my main wish is the green to accept shots?

i am a novice golfer and i am not a great handyman either. but i have heard you can order rolls of putting turf and install it yourself (after of course you prep the area, grade it, put down gravel dust first or something like that). i would like an area of green of about 20 feet by 40 feet. i have heard the turf you buy is anywhere from 2 to 4 dollars per square foot. anybody ever done this or have any advice? i want a green that will react as close to a real green as possible and hold the shots on the green from up to 100 yards away. is this a better route to go instead of trying to actually grow gr to putt on which would require much more maintenance? any ideas, suggestions or any input at all is welcome. thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
